Does anyone have any insight into this issue, and is there any sort of fix or workaround? It will constantly repeat songs that I've heard countless times, and leave others untouched entirely. I've come to realize how terrible it is at actually giving a 'true' shuffle on my library of over 2200+ songs. I'm not asking that they get rid of it, simply that they give us the option of a true random shuffle.I'm not too big on making a bunch of playlists on Spotify, so I tend to use shuffle on my entire 'liked songs' section. I am not claiming I have it figured out, but I know I don't like it. I am tired of spotify's terrible shuffle algorithm. Some have theorized that spotify does this because they have to pay more for some songs than others so they make us listen to the cheaper songs when on shuffle. The other problem people have noticed is that it seems they have songs on a playlist that play everyday and songs that play once a month.

Or if you want to make a playlist combining two genres, but you listen to one much more, you will only be hearing one genre until the first runs out. The other problem is that if you add a bunch of music to a playlist it will only play the new stuff for awhile. Your songs that are on multiple playlists, or that you choose to play will show up less often in shuffle. The problem here is that means it skips your favorite songs. The two biggest things that I and others have noticed is that when you hit shuffle, Spotify tries to avoid playing the songs you play most so that it sounds like a better shuffle since you hear those songs often. Spotify does not have a true shuffle button. Spotify is the most popular music streaming app and for people who use it often, a glaring issue begins to show up.
